13 Months in a Year?

Did you know that there is a 13th month hidden in your calendar? It’s hiding right where you sleep. Yep, it’s been there ever since you were born and until now, you’ve always known a year to have 12 months. While that is still technically true, hear me out.

Let’s say the average person wakes up at 7 A.M every day. If you wake up two hours earlier at 5 A.M. every day and continue that for one week, you will have added an extra 14 hours to your schedule. Let’s say you continued that over the course of an entire year. You will have effectively added an extra 728 hours to your calendar which is roughly equivalent to one month’s time. This gives you the upper hand to allow more time in your schedule for hitting goals and increasing productivity that others will deem impossible.

Now, let’s see what can be done with those two extra hours each day:

– Morning meditation/stretch/workout

– Read a chapter in a book

– Beat traffic

– Read and respond to emails before the hustle and bustle of the workday begins

– Practice learning a new language

– Work on a side-hustle

– Create or invent something

“Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of. One man gets only a week’s value out of a year while another man gets a full year’s value out of a week.”

– Charles Richards
